Fighting the Better Fight: U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) Introduces New Fuel Efficient Trucks (Part 1)

As the auto industry continually looks to improve fuel efficiency for vehicles, so does the U.S. Army. I was pleased to talk to Carl Johnson, a team leader at the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC), located in Warren, Mich., who introduced me to two of the latest fuel efficient demonstrator trucks – the Bravo and the Alpha – when I attended SAE International’s 2012 Powertrain Electric Motors Symposium for Electric and Hybrid Vehicles in Detroit.
