EV Charging Infrastructure Conference

By Bob Weed, Copper Development Association (CDA) Vice President and OEM

I had the pleasure of hearing Brian Wynne, President of the Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) provide the keynote address at the EV Charging Infrastructure Conference in Novi, Michigan.

EDTA is helping to promote collaboration between automakers, power generators, charging equipment manufacturers and other stakeholders involved with plug-in vehicles. Brian is extremely optimistic about the future of plug-in vehicles. Even though they are still a small percentage of total automotive sales, plug-in vehicles are one of the fastest growing segments. The consumer has a multitude of choices now with even more on the near horizon and it is clear that current owners love their plug-in vehicles.

Brian shared a wonderful video with the audience Go Electric Drive that I hope you enjoy as much as I did. Brian also shared the fact that now that he is driving a plug-in vehicle (with the great torque provided by an electric motor) he loves driving again…even in Washington, DC traffic.
