Copper Training with the United Association of Journeymen & Apprentices CDA instructs with hands-on training & course work for the plumbing and pipefitting industry

This summer marked the 59th year for the United Association Instructor Training Program in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  More than 1,200 UA plumbing, pipefitting, welding, sprinkler fitting and HVAC journeymen and apprentices came together from across the U.S. and Canada.  As communications manager for the Copper Development Association, I had the privilege of attending and observing both the events and classroom instruction again this year.

Copper in Stormwater Roof Runoff: Science Holds Answers

Joe Gorsuch works with environmental regulations and the collection of ecological toxicity data.  For 30 years prior to joining the CDA in March, 2009, he worked with Kodak, conducting environmental effects and stability studies on chemicals in the laboratory and outdoors to register chemicals for the photographic industry.  From 2005 to 2009 he was President and Owner of Gorsuch Environmental Managements Services, Inc. [GEMS, Inc.] coordinating environmental studies.  He holds an undergraduate degree in Wildlife Biology and a master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, focusing on Aquatic Toxicology, both from Purdue University.  Read more…
